Where's George Status

I joined Where's George July 14, 2009, by entering a one dollar bill I received in change. I blogged about the first bill here.

I blogged again about Where's George here. Over the past several months, I've gotten out of the habit of stamping my cash. I'm going to start doing better.

As of today, these are my statistics:

Do you ever receive bills stamped with "Where's George?" If you do, please take the time to enter the bill on the website. Receiving a notification that the bill has been found will thrill the person who started the bill on it's George journey!

Where's George?

Do you know where George is?

George (as in Washington) is on the $1 bill.

Have you ever thought about the $1 bills you receive and spend? Where they have been and where they go after you spend them?

No?

Neither have I.

But, someone was curious. Hence, the creation of "Where's George."

Curious people mark the $1's they receive with a special "Where's George" stamp and enter the bill serial number on-line.

I'm a curious person.

I bought a stamp.

I'm stamping all my $1 bills commencing today. I can't wait to see where they go!

Aliens in Arkansas

Aliens are the only possible explanation for these incidents:

Dead Birds and Dead Fish

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

My Favorite Christmas Presents

The Husband purchased two GREAT presents for me:
  1. Lost: The Complete Collection
  2. Lost Encyclopedia
I can't wait to read the encyclopedia and watch Lost from beginning to end (again.)

Thanks to The Husband!

What were your favorite Christmas presents?

Lost - The Final Season: The Package

I love Lost.

You know that.

I've not blogged about the new episodes the last few weeks, because I'm speechless.

I've been a Lost fan from the very first episode.

I've stuck with this series through thick and thin.

I know the show will have a BIG ending.

And, I hope I understand it!

Lost: Episode 5 of The Final Season

"Lighthouse"

I know lots of people are frustrated by the lack of answers to old questions in the new episodes.

Not to mention, the new questions that are raised in every new episode.

But I have confidence by the end of the season all our questions will be answered.

What do we know after this episode?

On the island:
  • Claire is crazy, but at least we now know what happened to her
  • Jin is a terrible liar
  • Hurley follows directions well and is funny
  • Jack ultimately still thinks only of himself
Sideways:
  • Jack has a son
  • Christian is still a jerk
I can't wait to see the episode again and to read the blogs on the web tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to next week.

Lost: Episode 4 of The Final Season

"The Substitute"

Awesome episode.

Great, witty dialogue that caused a number of giggles. Ben's eulogy was priceless. As was Sawyer saying "I guess I'd better put some pants on."

Lots of information to mull over. We are getting closer to answers, I believe.

Look closely at the photo above. Everyone except Locke is facing forward. Locke has his back to us. Perhaps it symbolizes he is not the real Locke, but is the fake Locke.

And the Old Spice commercial was the best!

Lost: Episode 3 of The Final Season

"What Kate Does"

What did we learn tonight? I don't know. I need to watch the episode again.

Lost: Episodes 1 & 2 - The Beginning of The End

"LA X 1" and "LA X 2"

After last night, I have even more questions. Do you think they will ever give us any answers?

A Phrase A Week

As I have confessed here, I'm a word nerd. I love learning the correct spelling, usage, and origins of words.

A few months ago I found this site, which educates readers on phrases. Love it!

Adze

I love learning new words.

I was recently working a word search puzzle where the words were names of tools. One of the tools was an adze. I had no idea what that was. Do you know what an adze is?

I've also found this website: Make Your Own Word Search Puzzle

Who knew you could do that?

Where's George?

Have you ever tracked a piece of paper currency on the Where's George website? If you are not familiar with this currency tracking project, read about it here.

In my change Tuesday morning at Sonic (I confess to loving their breakfast croissant), I received a dollar bill that had been stamped with the message:

"Track this bill at www.wheresgeorge.com".

Later in the morning, I logged onto the website and followed the instructions to log the bill. I found the dollar had traveled 145 miles to the zip code where I received it. I input the information about where I received the bill and in the afternoon put it back into circulation at the Exxon gas station a mile or so from my office.

When I first read about this project a few years ago, I considered purchasing a stamp and marking some bills and sending them out in circulation. I priced stamps, but never bought one. But after today, I'll probably go on-line and order one. A couple of the sites where you can order stamps are here and here .

I guess you don't need a stamp, if you want to write on the bill you can, but that could be kinda time consuming.

I don't think I'll ever be a serious "Georger," but it could be amusing. It speaks to the inner nerd in me.

Are you a "Georger?"
